July 22, 2019 – SAVANNAH, GA – CZM Foundation Equipment recently introduced an Ultra Short Mast option to their popular EK160. CZM has been manufacturing foundation drill rigs since 1976. In the early 2000’s, they started CZM USA, opening a factory in Savannah, Georgia.
This is the only machine of its class in the market that allows contractors to drill under 20ft overhead obstructions, up to a depth of 55ft and a diameter of 10ft. This makes it the ideal machine for drilling under transmission lines. With a torque of 167,350 ft.lbs, it can drill through very hard soil layers and rock.
The EK160USM is mounted on a Caterpillar 330F L Tier IV Final, with extendable crawlers for 360-degree stability. As is the case with all CZM machines, it comes with excellent after-sales support for parts and service. With an operation weight of 103,500 lbs and a transport weight of 83,000 lbs it is a very transport friendly piece of equipment. The machine is equipped with a self-erecting counterweight for easy set up and break down. In this system, by means of hydraulic cylinders installed in the back, the operator can pick up the counterweight from ground level and install it in place eliminating the need for a crane or forklift to set up the machine at the jobsite. This also reduces the operation cost and boosts contractors return on the investment.
Training and service support are provided by CZM and equipment is available for rental, direct sale, or rental/purchase options. CZM Foundation Equipment is headquartered in Savannah, GA and has an office in Saginaw, Texas, along with sales team members based in all regions of the US and Canada.
